Brown Statement on Three Year Anniversary of Russian Invasion of Ukraine

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Shontel Brown (OH-11) releases the following statement: 

“Three years ago today, Russia launched a premeditated war of aggression that has inflicted devastation, death and destruction upon our democratic ally Ukraine. Since then, President Joe Biden and Democrats in Congress have supported the people of Ukraine and pushed back against Russian aggression in order to protect America’s national security interests.

“President Trump and Pro-Putin Republicans are now recklessly threatening to abandon Ukraine and appease Russia, our sworn adversary. Don’t believe Trump’s Kremlin talking points: Vladimir Putin started this war. Any talks must include the country that was wrongfully attacked: Ukraine. The Ukrainian people and President Zelensky stand on the side of democracy, freedom and truth. We must continue to stand with Ukraine.”
