Community Project Funding FAQs

Please note: In a change from FY24, the only eligible recipients for Community Project Funding in the Economic Development Initiatives account are the following types of governmental entities and public institutions of higher education:
- States and the District of Columbia
- Territories
- Tribal governments
- Counties
- Cities, towns, parishes, or other local government entities
- Public colleges and universities, including community colleges
What is Community Project Funding (CPF)?
- Member requested funding on behalf of a constituent or constituent organization
- The purpose of the project must meet the objectives of a federal program under existing law
Who is eligible for CPF?
- Eligible entities vary by subcommittee and account. Please refer to the specific subcommittee guidance found here, for clarifying information.
Is there a deadline for submitting a CPF application?
- Yes, the deadline to submit General Programmatic and Language Requests as well as Community Project Funding is 11:59 PM on TUESDAY, APRIL 30, 2024.
Are there funding parameters?
- Each project must show that the requested funding will be used in its entirety in fiscal year 2025.

I submitted a request. Will it be approved? How will I know?
- The Community Project Funding process is highly competitive. Once your materials have been submitted, the Office of Congresswoman Brown will contact you if additional information is needed, or if your project has been selected to move forward.
