Congresswoman Brown Announces 2024-25 OH-11 Youth Advisory Council

Cleveland, Ohio – Congresswoman Shontel Brown today announced the members of the 2024-25 OH-11 Youth Advisory Council, an education and leadership initiative designed for local high school juniors and seniors. Through participation in Congresswoman Brown’s Youth Advisory Council, students from across Northeast Ohio learn more about Congress and public service, issues in the community, and develop professional and leadership skills.
Earlier this year, Congresswoman Brown’s office invited high school students from across the district to apply. After a competitive selection process, the Council began meeting in October. The Youth Advisory Council will continue meeting regularly throughout the school year, with opportunities to engage with local leaders and discuss issues impacting Northeast Ohio. During the November session, students were welcomed by members of Team Brown, who introduced them to the program and its goals.
“I couldn’t be more excited about the incredible group of students in this year’s Youth Advisory Council,” said Congresswoman Shontel Brown. “This program is an important priority for my office, because I firmly believe in empowering young people to engage with their communities, broaden their horizons, and contribute their unique insights to inform federal policy. It was an honor to meet with the 2024-25 class and their families at this year’s launch and learn more about their goals and perspectives. Their enthusiasm for public service and community engagement is really inspiring. I look forward to seeing all the great things the Council will accomplish this school year and beyond.”
