Brown Statement on Trump’s Decision to Strike Iran

Cleveland, OH – Congresswoman Shontel Brown (OH-11) releases the following statement: 

“President Trump did not make the case to Congress or the country before ordering strikes on Iran that risk dangerous escalation and the safety of U.S. forces. 

“We should all be opposed to a nuclear Iran. However, I am deeply concerned that President Trump decided to launch direct strikes without Congressional authorization. The stakes are incredibly high: Congress and the American people must receive answers, explanation, and a real plan from the White House.”
