Congressional Art Competition

 

2026 Grand Prize Winner:

Every year, the Congressional Institute organizes the Congressional Art Competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent within each congressional district. Since its inception in 1982, over 650,000 high school students have participated in the Artistic Discovery competition. The Congressional Art Competition is open to all high school students living in the Eleventh Congressional District of Ohio. 

Winners from each district will be honored at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, D.C., as well as in their home districts. The winning art pieces will be displayed inside the U.S. Capitol for one year for all Members, staff, and visitors to view and admire.

2027 Art Competition 

The following is a summary of the Congressional Art Competition rules:

Artwork entered in the contest may be up to 26” x 26” x 4” and not weigh more than 15 pounds. If your artwork is selected as the winning piece, it must arrive framed and must still measure no larger than the above maximum dimensions. The deadline for submission is Sunday, April 5th by 5 pm. Submissions should be submitted electronically and then dropped off at 25200 Chagrin Blvd Suite 200, Beachwood, OH 44122. Drop-off can be coordinated with Essence Britt-Reid via phone at (216) 522-4900 or email at Essence.BrittReid@mail.house.gov. All drop-offs should be confirmed beforehand with the below documents submitted.

The deadline for students residing in OH-11 to participate in the 2027 Congressional Art Competition is April 2nd, 2027, at the close of business.
