Congresswoman Brown Announces $110,000 in Federal Arts Funding for Northeast Ohio

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Shontel Brown (OH-11) and the National Endowment for the Arts announced $110,000 in federal arts grant funding for institutions in Northeast Ohio. These grants were awarded as part of the National Endowment for the Arts’ Grants for Arts Projects and Challenge Americaprograms.

“The arts enrich our lives, bond our communities, and help educate and inspire Ohioans young and old,” said Congresswoman Shontel Brown. “I am proud to announce that seven National Endowment for the Arts grants have been awarded to Northeast Ohio, including funding for arts classes for foster youth and support for key community events like JazzFest and the Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival.”
The following grants were announced for Northeast Ohio:
- Children’s Museum of Cleveland - $10,000 Challenge America grant: to support the museum's Center Stage performance program, which provides exposure to the performing arts for an early childhood audience.
- Cleveland Modern Dance Association - $15,000 from Grants for Arts Projects: to support dance presentations and community engagement activities by DANCECleveland.
- Contemporary Youth Orchestra - $15,000 from Grants for Arts Projects: to support the performance and tour of a commissioned work reflecting on the 2015 mass shooting at a church in Charleston, South Carolina.
- Cuyahoga Community College Foundation - $20,000 from Grants for Arts Projects: to support the Tri-C JazzFest Cleveland.
- Fevered Dreams Productions - $20,000 from Grants for Arts Projects: to support staff salaries for the Chagrin Documentary Film Festival and related public programming.
- Fostering Hope - $10,000 from Grants for Arts Projects: to support art classes for youth in foster care and residential treatment centers in Northeast Ohio.
- Greater Cleveland Urban Film Foundation - $20,000 from Grants for Arts Projects: to support the Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival and related public programming.
