Congresswoman Brown Joins Rally in Support of Federal Workers in Cleveland

February 21, 2025
Cleveland, OH – Congresswoman Shontel Brown (OH-11) joined leaders from the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), North Shore AFL-CIO Federation of Labor, federal employees, and community allies today in Cleveland for a Rally to Save our Civil Service.
Congresswoman Brown spoke out in favor of federal workers in Northeast Ohio and highlighted the importance of the federal labor force in serving the American people. During her remarks, Congresswoman Brown condemned former President Donald Trump’s and Elon Musk’s repeated attacks on civil servants.
Trump has already begun mass firings of federal workers, including the recent wrongful termination of Ohio VA employees.
"I’m proud to represent 10,000 federal workers in my district––they keep our veterans cared for, our skies safe, and our government running. But Trump and Musk are attacking them—trying to gut unions, slash pay, and make public service a political loyalty test. We won’t let them. We will fight to protect their jobs, benefits, and dignity—because America needs them," said Congresswoman Brown.
In addition to rallying with workers, Congresswoman Brown recently led a letter to the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), demanding answers on Musk’s use of an outside server to send millions of federal workers the notorious Fork in the Road email.
Earlier this month, Congresswoman Brown also spoke on the House floor and in the Oversight Committee in support of federal workers and against Trump and Musk’s all-out-assault on civil servants.
