Congresswoman Brown Receives National Leadership Award from The National Newspaper Publishers Association for Work in Congress

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Shontel Brown (OH-11) has received a 2023 National Leadership Awardfrom The National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA) for her work in the House of Representatives and advocacy for her constituents in Ohio’s 11^th Congressional District. The NNPA is an association of more than 200 African American owned community newspapers.

“The Black Press is more essential than ever, providing a voice to and for our communities – informing Black Americans about the news that matters to our families, friends, and neighbors. As a longtime reader of the Call and Post, one of the country’s oldest, still published Black newspapers, I am especially proud of this recognition,” said Congresswoman Shontel Brown. 

Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Chair Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-04) and Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) also received National Leadership Awards.
