Congresswoman Brown Statement on Trump Administration Placing Celebrezze Federal Building in Cleveland on Accelerated Disposition List

Cleveland, OH – Congresswoman Shontel Brown (OH-11) releases the following statement on the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) placing the Anthony J. Celebrezze Federal Building on the GSA’s list of assets for accelerated disposition. This is the latest step in the Trump Administration’s plan to sell the Celebrezze building.
“The Trump Administration’s plan to sell the Celebrezze building is an insult to Cleveland and the people of Northeast Ohio. If successful, Trump’s plan to sell the Celebrezze building will mean disrupted federal services, local federal worker job loss, and disinvestment in downtown Cleveland. I will continue to oppose this misguided and reckless plan and encourage GSA to invest in upgrading the building rather than selling it for parts,” said Congresswoman Shontel Brown.
In March, Congresswoman Brown slammed GSA’s decision to sell the Celebrezze building and sent a letter to GSA calling on them to reverse course. At an Oversight Committee hearing in April, Brown again criticized the Administration’s plan to sell the building (VIDEO HERE), which currently houses over 4,000 federal employees across multiple agencies.
