Congresswoman Brown Votes to Keep Government Open

Washington, DC – Thursday, the House passed a short-term Continuing Resolution to fund the government and avoid a partial government shutdown. Congresswoman Shontel Brown (OH-11) voted for H.R. 7463, which would extend federal funding through March 8 or March 22, depending on the agency.
Congresswoman Brown releases the following statement:
“I voted to avoid a shutdown and allow bipartisan budget negotiations to continue. Once again, House Democrats have delivered the votes necessary to keep the government open and demonstrated a sense of responsibility that has been lacking on the other side of aisle. Since September, extreme conservatives have completely derailed the appropriations process and it’s time for them to end their dysfunction. We cannot play politics with the paychecks of service members and federal workers or with the key programs Ohioans depend upon.”
