Congresswoman Shontel Brown Secures $500,000 in Federal Funding for May Dugan Center Expansion and Renovation

Cleveland, OH – Congresswoman Shontel Brown (OH-11) is excited to announce that the May Dugan Center has been awarded $500,000. The funding, secured through Congresswoman Brown’s Community Project Funding (CPF) request, was signed into law in March 2024 and will enable the expansion and renovation of the center’s facilities, allowing it to expand its essential programming for Cleveland’s communities.
Last week, Congresswoman Brown visited the May Dugan Center to celebrate this investment and highlight its significance for the community. This grant will support the May Dugan Center’s service to more than 23,000 individuals and families across Cleveland. The Center provides food assistance, clothing, behavioral health counseling, adult education, job placement services, victim support, trauma counseling, and more.
“The May Dugan Center has been a lifeline for countless families and individuals in our community,” said Congresswoman Shontel Brown. “I am proud to have secured this funding to ensure that they can continue their mission and reach even more residents with the support they need to thrive.”
