WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Shontel Brown (OH-11) voted to pass the Build Back Better Act, landmark legislation to cut taxes for families and lower the costs of health care, child-care, education, housing, and more.

I came to Congress to deliver results for hardworking families who have struggled to make ends meet for far too long, and that is exactly what the Build Back Better Act does,” said Rep. Brown.  “I am proud to help pass this historic bill that gives all Americans a fair shot at getting ahead.  With provisions to invest in childcare, make college more affordable, lower the costs of health care and prescription drugs, and build more affordable housing, this bill will benefit countless Northeast Ohioans and put money back in their pockets.  What’s more, it is fully paid for by making sure large corporations and wealthy Americans pay their fair share.

“This week, President Biden signed the bipartisan infrastructure bill that invests in roads, bridges, public transit, and broadband. The Build Back Better Act invests in people—families, seniors, children, aspiring college students, and workers who have always been the backbone of our economy. Together with the infrastructure bill, the Build Back Better Act will create millions of good-paying jobs, reduce poverty, and rebuild the middle class.”
