Congresswoman Shontel Brown Sworn-in for 119th Congress

January 3, 2025

Washington, DC - Today, Congresswoman Shontel Brown was sworn-in as Representative for Ohio’s 11thCongressional District for the 119th Congress.

The 119th Congress will run from January 3, 2025, to January 3, 2027. Congresswoman Brown was first sworn in during the 117th Congress in 2021.

Congresswoman Brown releases the following statement:

“I am honored to begin my second full term representing the people of Northeast Ohio in the House of Representatives. I can’t wait to continue using my vote and my voice to empower working families, expand opportunities, and ensure every person has the chance to build a better future.

“I work for the families in Hough and Kinsman striving for better wages, children in East Cleveland counting on access to quality education and nutrition programs, seniors in Euclid and Maple Heights trying to retire with dignity, our neighbors in Garfield Heights who fear losing the health coverage they depend on, small business owners on the West Side working tirelessly to serve their communities, and for every person across our district who deserves a government that works for them. No matter what the next President says, the diversity of my constituents must be celebrated, their opportunities preserved, and their well-being prioritized.

“In this narrowly-divided Congress, we must choose collaboration and civility over division and dysfunction. As I work to find common ground with my colleagues, I will continue to work for fairness, justice, equity, and opportunity for the people of Northeast Ohio and across the country.”
