Rep. Brown Applauds the National Defense Authorization Act Bill Signing
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Shontel Brown (OH-11) issued the following statement regarding the signing of the Fiscal Year 2023 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which includes the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 2022.
“Nothing is more important than protecting our country and the welfare of those who serve it,” said Rep. Shontel Brown. “On top of increasing pay for our servicemembers and reducing hunger for military families, this legislation will boost Ohio’s economy and safeguard our national security when it matters most. It is a win for our servicemembers, Ohio’s Eleventh Congressional District, and our country.”
“Additionally, I am proud to have joined my colleagues in securing two major provisions in the WRDA, including an increase in the cost share for the Brandon Road Lock and Dam project, and language advocating for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to help provide technical assistance for the removal of Gorge Dam in Summit County. These investments will bring us one step closer to improving water quality in our region.”
