Rep. Brown Presides as Ranking Member for House Agriculture Subcommittee on General Farm Commodities, Risk Management, and Credit “Producer Perspectives on the 2023 Farm Bill” Hearing

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On April 26, Rep. Shontel Brown (OH-11) issued the following statement after presiding as Ranking Member for House Agriculture Subcommittee on General Farm Commodities, Risk Management, and Credit “Producer Perspectives on the 2023 Farm Bill” Hearing.
“Our nation’s strength in agriculture and as a people is our diversity. We must acknowledge that this Farm Bill is for everyone: no matter what you look like, what you grow, or where you grow it,” said Rep. Shontel Brown. “While this hearing gave us the opportunity to hear directly from our major commodity groups’ leadership, it is critical that we ensure the crafting of a Farm Bill For All; meaningful policy that works for everyone. To help safeguard this result, I formally requested a hearing to hear from minority and disadvantaged farmers and stakeholders on Farm Bill issues pertaining to this Subcommittee.
“Moving forward, I hope to collaborate with colleagues across the aisle to secure bipartisan solutions so that the upcoming Farm Bill includes a strong, up-front investment in the farm safety net—because our producers come before politics.”
