Rep. Brown Statement on City of Akron Police Department Body Cam Footage of Jayland Walker Shooting

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Shontel M. Brown (OH-11) issued the following statement about Sunday’s City of Akron press conference and released body cam footage of the police-involved shooting of 25-year-old Jayland Walker:

“I am sure watching the body cam video today was difficult for many more than me. As we let the investigation move forward, I join the Walker family, Mayor Horrigan, and Council leaders for everyone to remain peaceful. I welcome the City’s commitment to a transparent investigation and review and will continue to support a fair and accurate gathering and review of all the evidence.”
