Rep. Shontel Brown Elected to Serve as Ranking Member of the U.S. House Subcommittee on General Farm Commodities, Risk Management, and Credit

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Rep. Shontel M. Brown (OH-11) released the following statement regarding her election to serve as Ranking Member of the U.S. House Subcommittee on General Farm Commodities, Risk Management, and Credit in the 118th Congress.
“The success of our nation's farms directly impacts food accessibility in Northeast Ohio,” said Rep. Brown. “I am honored to have been selected to serve as the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on General Farm Commodities, Risk Management, and Credit in the 118th Congress. This position will allow me to lift the voices of Northeast Ohio as we discuss priorities for the upcoming Farm Bill, which is crucial to securing our nation's food supply. By taking on this leadership role, I look forward to working with bipartisan colleagues to ensure our farmers and their families have a strong safety net.”
The U.S. House Subcommittee on General Farm Commodities, Risk Management, and Credit’s jurisdiction will cover general commodity programs, crop insurance, disaster mitigation, USDA’s Farm Service Agency, and Risk Management Agency.
