Community Project Funding (CPF) is an initiative started in FY22 that allows Members of Congress to request direct funding for projects that benefit the communities they represent. CPF is separate from federal grants and funding is apportioned by formula.

Community Project Funding will be governed by strict requirements to promote transparency and prevent waste, fraud, and abuse. Notably, only non-profit organizations, state, local, tribal, and territorial governments may apply for CPF. In addition, only projects with demonstrated community support will be considered (entities may submit additional documentation to show support).

Please note that only one-year funding requests will be considered, and state and local matching requirements will not be waived for projects that would otherwise have such requirements.

For detailed information about which factors the Appropriations Committee will consider, please review the Committee guidelines, which can be found here(link is external). If you require any additional assistance, please email brownoh11.appropriations@mail.house.gov and Julia.Rossman@mail.house.gov.

Please review guidance(link is external) from the House Appropriations Committee before submitting your request.

Submission of a CPF request does not guarantee that the Appropriations Committee will fund the request or fund it at the requested level.

Any information provided on CPF request forms will become publicly available on this website to comply with House Appropriations Committee and Congressional ethics requirements.
