Congresswoman Brown to Host Advance Screening and Panel Discussion on "Shirley" Friday March 15

Congresswoman Shontel Brown will host an advance screening and panel discussion of the new Netflix film “Shirley” on Friday March 15 at 6:00 PM.
“Shirley” tells the story of history-making Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm, the first Black woman elected to Congress and the first to run for President from one of the two major parties. You can read more about her trailblazing career here.
The screening is free to attend, but seating is limited so please register here. The film is a great opportunity for students and young people to learn more about Black history and Women’s history as they relate to Congress and elected office.
