SNAP Benefits: What You Need to Know

November 14 Update:
With the shutdown over, the State of Ohio has announced that full SNAP benefits for November will be distributed by next week.
According to the State, recipients should receive full payments by the end of the week of November 17. If you received a partial payment, you will receive the remainder of your balance.
November 4 Update:
On Friday October 31, two federal judges ruled that the Trump Administration was illegally blocking emergency SNAP benefits when they directed all states to pause all November Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. The courts made it clear: the White House must use the emergency money Congress provided to fund benefits in November.
But instead of restoring full benefits, the Administration announced their policy would be to cut benefits by 50% this month—and that it could take weeks or even months for those reduced payments to reach people. Instead of doing the right thing, acting quickly, and finding solutions, they’re dragging their feet.
Congresswoman Brown's office is working with local partners and my colleagues on the Agriculture Committee to make sure the Administration follows the law and fully restores SNAP benefits. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more about how this affects Ohio families.

- Your existing card will continue to work, but your regular payment will not appear.
