Brown Secures Over $12.5 Million in Federal Funding for 14 Projects Across Northeast Ohio

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Shontel Brown (OH-11) today announced that she has secured over $12.5 million in federal funding for fourteen local projects in Northeast Ohio. The wins include funding for water, road, and rail infrastructure in Midtown Cleveland, the West Side, and University Heights; public safety and crime prevention across Cleveland and Cuyahoga County; local park and building projects in Euclid and Irishtown Bend in Cleveland, and funding for housing in Cleveland.
Importantly, Brown’s funding will help contribute to the ongoing transformation of Cleveland with a stronger connection to the Lakefront, thanks to support for the DREAM 66 Project in Midtown, the Irishtown Bend Stabilization and Rehabilitation Project, and Cleveland Metroparks CHEERS Project on the Cleveland Harbor and Cuyahoga County’s Lakefront Connector project.
“No matter who is in the White House, I am committed to delivering real results for our district. At a time when the Trump Administration is attempting to cut funding for cities like Cleveland, we used every tool available to bring federal funding back home for key projects across Northeast Ohio. For two years, we worked with local partners and fought hard to secure funding for a wide range of projects that will make our communities safer, strengthen our infrastructure, and support opportunity across Cleveland. These are big wins and it’s a credit to our local partners and my staff that we were able to build bipartisan support for these projects,” said Congresswoman Shontel Brown.
These federal funds are the result of Fiscal Year 2026 Community Project Funding (CPF) requests submitted by Congresswoman Brown last year. Brown’s office worked with local governments and stakeholders who submit funding requests and shepherded them through the House Committee on Appropriations.
Congresswoman Brown’s funding requests became law through two funding bills: H.R. 6938 (signed on 1/23/2026) and H.R. 7148 (signed on 2/3/2026). On final passage, Brown voted for H.R. 6938 and against H.R. 7148, a package that included unrelated funding for the Department of Homeland Security opposed by Brown.
Without the efforts of Brown’s office, these CPFs would not have been included in either bill.
