Rep. Brown Applauds President Biden’s Historic Nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court

WASHINGTON – Today, Representative Shontel M. Brown (OH-11) released the following statement on President Biden’s historic nomination of Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court:

“I applaud President Biden's historic nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to serve on the Supreme Court.  Judge Jackson's distinguished career, unparalleled integrity, and lifelong commitment to justice make her the perfect candidate to serve on the highest court in the land. A highly respected jurist with broad experience across the legal profession, Judge Jackson will bring an important perspective and voice to the bench.

“As we close our Black History Month, I commend President Biden for making good on his promise to ensure the Supreme Court more accurately reflects the diversity of our country. Now, I look forward to Judge Jackson becoming the first Black woman to serve on the Supreme Court. Yet more than mere symbolism, Judge Jackson’s lived experience, legal intellect, and outstanding character will serve the American people well on the bench and move our country one historic step closer towards justice for all.
