Washington, DC – Congresswoman Shontel Brown (OH-11) co-led a letter authored by Congresswoman Robin Kelly (IL-02) urging the Trump administration to reverse its recent announcement to shut down six regional offices in the Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Office of General Counsel.

“The federal government plays a limited, but crucial role in supporting American educational systems––yet this new Republican scheme to eliminate the Department of Education will devastate our nation’s students from preschool to high school.

Washington, DC — Congresswoman Shontel Brown (OH-11), Vice Ranking Member on the House Agriculture Committee, joined Congresswoman Jahana Hayes (CT-05), Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Nutrition and Foreign Agriculture, and House Agriculture Committee Democrats in sending a letter to Speaker Mike Johnson (LA-04) and Agriculture Committee Chairman “GT” Thompson (PA-15), urging bipartisan negotiations on the farm bill and opposing harmful cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
