OH-11 Veterans Recognition Ceremony: Forged in Service, Rooted in Community
The Office of Congresswoman Shontel Brown’s Veterans Recognition Ceremony honors the service, sacrifice, and continued contributions of veterans throughout Ohio’s 11th Congressional District. Forged in Service, Rooted in Community recognizes the discipline, resilience, leadership, and purpose developed through military service and the lasting impact veterans continue to make after returning home. From serving as neighbors and mentors to educators, business owners, advocates, and community leaders, OH-11 veterans continue to strengthen the communities they once left home to serve.
Individuals may use these forms to:
- Register themselves and/or additional guests to attend the Veterans Recognition Ceremony.
- Nominate a veteran for consideration for one of the ceremony’s designated award categories.
- Register a veteran to receive recognition for their military service without being nominated for a specific award.
Eligibility
Veterans being nominated for veteran recognition must:
- Be a former member of the United States Armed Forces;
- Have served in the Active Duty, National Guard, or Reserve components; and
- Be able to provide documentation of military service, such as a DD Form 214 or other acceptable documentation, if requested.
Additional eligibility requirements may apply depending on the recognition category.
Important Dates:
Nomination Deadline: September 25, 2026 *Event registration will remain open until October 27th*
Veterans Recognition Ceremony: October 28, 2026
Location: Arnold Pinkney East Professional Center
Additional ceremony information, including the time and participation instructions, will be provided to selected honorees and participants.
