Congresswoman Brown Joins Groundbreaking for Euclid Beach Connector, Backed by $850,000 in Federal Funding Secured by Her Office

May 4, 2026

Brown secured federal funding for the Cuyahoga County project earlier this year

Cleveland, OH – Today, Congresswoman Shontel Brown (OH-11) joined Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne, Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb, and other local officials to break ground on the new Euclid Beach Connector, a trail located between E. 151st Street and the Cleveland Metroparks’ Euclid Beach.

In February, Brown secured $850,000 in federal Community Project Funding for the trail after submitting the project for federal support in 2025.

“For far too long, too many Northeast Ohioans haven’t been able to access Lake Erie – and now, we are making it happen up and down the shoreline. The Euclid Beach Connector is about opening up our shoreline, connecting our neighborhoods, and investing in the future of our community. My office fought hard to provide federal funds to make this new trail a reality, and with all the chaos in Washington, I am proud we delivered. It was incredible to join Cuyahoga County, the City of Cleveland, Cleveland Metroparks and our other partners on this important effort. This is what partnership looks like, and I’m excited to see this trail come to life for the people we serve,” said Congresswoman Shontel Brown
