Congresswoman Brown’s office will hold mobile office hours around the 11th District this April and May. These office hours are part of our effort to be accessible across the community. As always, you can also contact us in our Beachwood office at (216) 522-4900. 

 

During mobile office hours members of our staff will be on hand to answer questions about the services we provide and help begin casework should you need assistance with a federal agency.

Congresswoman Shontel Brown will hold two town hall style Coffee with Your Congresswoman events Tuesday March 18 in Northeast Ohio. At each event she will share an update from Washington, talk about the constituent services we provide, and answer your questions. 

Each event is open to constituents. You do not have to live in a specific city or neighborhood to attend.

On January 4, 2025, President Biden signed the Social Security Fairness Act into law. This bill is a big win for Ohio seniors and marks the first expansion of Social Security benefits in decades, ending two harmful provisions that had unfairly reduced benefits for millions of former public employees. 

This was legislation I cosponsored, helped bring to the House floor, and voted for in November of 2024. And now, it's the law of the land!

December 21st Update: on December 20 the House passed legislation to fund the government, which was passed by the Senate early on December 21st. President Biden will sign the legislation later today, avoiding a shutdown.

 

 

Current funding for the federal government is set to expire on December 20, 2024.

Attention Ohioans - please be aware of upcoming Ohio voter registration deadlines.

Under Ohio law, inactive voters will be removed from voter registration lists later this month. Registered voters who have no voter history in the past four years or have submitted a change of address form with the USPS and are no longer eligible to vote at their former address are subject to removal.

The event was titled "Harmonies of Heritage: Exploring the Influence of Black Music" and featured insights and perspective from Black music experts. Congresswoman Brown is the author of a House Resolution to recognize June as Black Music Month
